    Zenshoan Temple was founded by Yamaoka Tesshu, praying for those who died during the closing days of the Tokugawa shogun ate and the Meiji Restoration.
    The grave of “rakugo” storyteller Sanyutei Encho is here. He has a collection of “yurei-ga” ghost scrolls, and every year in August some of the chilling Japanese ghost pictures are on display.
  • Oiwa-Inari Tamiya Shrine

    This Shrine was related to Oiwa and Tamiya Iemon, one of the protagonists of the famous horror story "Yotsuya Kaidan".
  • Masakado's Tomb

    The tomb is a stone monument built to enshrine the decapitated head of Taira no Masakado, one of a powerful family in the mid-Heian period.
    He has anecdote that his head, exposed in Heian-kyo, flew back to his hometown in the east due to his grudge, and fell on the land along the way. One of the places where the head fell is here, "Masakado's tomb".
